Slime Party vs Paint Party vs Colourdough — Which is Right for Your Child?
It's the question we get asked more than any other: "Which party should I choose?"
And honestly? It's a great question — because slime parties, paint parties and colourdough parties are all genuinely brilliant, but they suit different ages, personalities and vibes. Here's the honest breakdown.
Choose a Paint Party if...
Your child is 6 or older, loves art, and would be genuinely thrilled to hang something they made themselves on their bedroom wall. Paint parties are our most focused and structured experience — every child follows guided steps to create a finished canvas painting that looks genuinely impressive.
Paint parties are brilliant for groups where the kids all know each other and are happy to sit and create together. The finished canvas is a keepsake that kids talk about for weeks afterwards.
Best for: Older kids (6+), art lovers, groups who love a focused creative activity, parents who want a calm, organised party experience.
Choose a Slime Party if...
Your child is obsessed with slime (and honestly, what kid isn't?) and loves the idea of making, mixing and customising their own creation. Slime parties are sensory, energetic and brilliantly fun — kids mix their slime, choose their mix-ins and take home a custom creation in a jar.
Slime parties work brilliantly for younger kids from age 3 and are a fantastic option if you want to add face painting to the mix too.
Best for: Younger kids (3+), sensory lovers, energetic groups, parties where face painting is also on the agenda.
Choose a Colourdough Party if...
Your child is on the younger side, loves imaginative play, and would enjoy sculpting and creating with beautifully coloured hand-made dough. Colourdough parties are calm, creative and perfectly suited to the 3–7 age group — there's no pressure, no steps to follow, just pure imaginative making.
Colourdough is also our most affordable option, making it a great choice for larger groups or families who want a brilliant experience without the higher price point.
Best for: Younger kids (3–7), imaginative players, calm party vibes, larger groups on a budget, parties where face painting is wanted.
