Your child's safety
is everything.

The safety and wellbeing of every child at a Scriblz party is our number one priority. Here's exactly how we keep kids safe, supervised and supported at every event.

FOR YOUR SAFETY

Our safety credentials

Every Scriblz host meets the following requirements before working at any party:

Working With Children Check (WWCC)

All Scriblz hosts hold a current, valid WWCC issued by the NSW Office of the Children's Guardian. We are happy to provide check numbers on request.

First Aid Certified

All hosts hold a current first aid certification including CPR. Certificates are renewed in line with Australian requirements.

Fully Insured

Scriblz holds current public liability insurance. We are happy to provide a certificate of currency on request — particularly for school, OSHC and event bookings.

Independent Artist Host Screening

All independent artist hosts engaged by Scriblz are individually screened, credential-checked and trained in the Scriblz method before working at any party.

LOOKING OUT FOR YOUR CHILD

Supervision at every party

Scriblz provides a minimum of 1 host per approximately 10 children. For larger groups we increase host numbers accordingly to ensure all guests are appropriately supervised throughout the activity.

Our hosts will:

Guide every child through the activity step by step

Monitor all children for signs of distress, discomfort or safety concerns

Manage materials safely — including paints, slime ingredients and tools

Ensure protective equipment is in place throughout the session

Manage the activity space to minimise hazards at all times

Parent/guardian responsibility

While Scriblz hosts supervise the creative activity, a parent or responsible adult must be present on the premises at all times. Scriblz hosts are not responsible for children outside the designated activity area or during non-activity time.

CRITICAL INFORMATION

Allergies & medical conditions

Please disclose any relevant information at time of booking, including:

  • Food allergies — particularly relevant for colourdough which contains wheat/gluten

  • Skin sensitivities or contact allergies

  • Sensory sensitivities that may affect participation

  • Any medical conditions we should be aware of

Outdoor party safety

Scriblz parties can be held outdoors, subject to the following conditions:

  • A suitable backup indoor space must be available in case of inclement weather

  • Outdoor surfaces must be appropriate for floor covering and activity setup

  • We do not operate in extreme heat (above 38°C) or during severe weather events

  • Sun protection is the responsibility of the party host

If something goes wrong

In the unlikely event of an incident at a Scriblz party:

  • Our first aid-certified hosts will respond immediately to any injury or medical concern

  • Parents/guardians will be notified immediately of any incident involving their child

  • We maintain an incident record for all events

  • In the event of a serious medical emergency, emergency services will be called immediately

Please note

Scriblz hosts are not medical professionals.

While all hosts hold first aid certification, parents and guardians of children with known medical conditions should ensure appropriate medication (e.g. EpiPens) is present at the party and that Scriblz staff are briefed on its use if required.

CONSCIOUS CHOICES

Safe materials at every party

All materials used at Scriblz parties are selected with child safety as the primary consideration:

  • All paints are non-toxic, water-based and safe for children. We do not use oil-based or solvent-containing paints.

  • All components are non-toxic. We use borax-free formulations wherever possible. Please advise us of any allergies or sensitivities at time of booking.

  • Our hand-made colourdough is made with food-grade ingredients. It is not intended for consumption. Please advise of any allergies including wheat/gluten at time of booking.

  • Where glitter is used, we use biodegradable eco-glitter. We avoid loose fine glitter around very young children.
